Attorney Michael D. Kaufman

Michael D. Kaufman is a lifelong resident of the Sandusky, OH area having graduated from Sandusky High School in 1989. He attended the University of Toledo where he played Football and received Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in English 1993. 
In between undergrad and Law School Michael spent a year working in the Ohio Senate as an aid. In 1994 he enrolled at the University of Toledo, College of Law and received his Degree of Juris Doctor in May of 1997. While in Law School, Michael was the Chairman of the Moot Court Board from 1996-1997. Upon graduation he returned to Sandusky and joined the Firm of Kaufman and Kaufman, Co. LPA. 
Since 1998 he has been licensed by the Ohio Supreme Court to appear and practice in all Ohio State Courts as well as U.S. Federal Court, the United States District Court of Northern Ohio. From 2001 through 2009 he served as an Assistant Law Director for the City of Sandusky and Prosecutor in Sandusky Municipal Court. He served two terms a Trustee for the Erie County Bar Association. He has been the Solicitor for the Village of Bay View Ohio since 2003 and the Prosecutor for the Village of Kelleys Island since 2005. 
He currently serves on Erie County Board of Health, is a member of the Erie and Huron County Bar Associations, the Ohio State Bar Association and is an active member of the Sandusky Rotary Club. He is married to his wife Sarah, they have three children and they reside in Perkins Township.
Michael’s area of practice consists primarily of Estate Planning, Probate, Personal Injury, Domestic Relations, Business Law and Misdemeanor Criminal Defense, Traffic and OVI’s.
